Too Many Paths

You were on your knees
You lost your balance
Poor ballerinas lost the secret of dance
I remember when you were always high
You said the sun was too cold when you touched the sky.
You were innocent.
Rich with winged heels up among the clouds
Heavens chosen child.
Who taught you how to read the nods and winks.
Who helped you swim or even let you sink
While one hand holds the other letting go
Too many paths are crossing in the snow.
Its so hard to see whose really free
the caged bird sings so beautifully
Scent of summer breeze perfumes the trees
Tripping on the farm who could come to any harm.
Down in the waves swim to the caves
Hear the sirens cry as you drift away.
Who taught you how to read the nods and winks.
Who helped you swim or even let you sink
While one hand holds the other letting go
Too many paths are crossing in the snow.
Too many paths are crossing in the snow.
